Life Coaching is a future-focused practice with the aim of helping clients determine and achieve personal goals. It focuses, on effecting change in a client’s current and future behavior. The origin of coaching comes from executive coaching; which drew on techniques developed in management consulting and leadership training.
The process is designed and defined in a relationship agreement between a client and a coach. It is based on the client’s expressed interests, goals and objectives, and exploration is made through use of the following methods: inquiry, reflection, requests and discussion to help clients identify personal and/or business and/or relationship goals, develop strategies, relationships and action plans intended to achieve those goals.
We hold our clients to account in order for us to monitor their progress towards implementation of their action plan’s, these plans will be adapted and modified to best suit the client’s needs and any relevant environmental relationships.
We may explore with the client specific insights and skills to empower the client toward their goals.
Coaching cannot and does not promise that a client will take any specific action or attain specific goals. Clients are ultimately responsible for their own achievements and success and will therefore be encouraged to take action.
Coaching is not counselling, if however it becomes apparent at any stage throughout the coaching process that counselling is more appropriate, then those clients may have the opportunity to be referred to one of our other services.
